Alexander Russo


Mr. Russo has worked with One Equity Partners in executive leadership positions and as a Board Member for a number of its portfolio companies over the past 15 years, and works closely with the firm as a strategic advisor in connection with investments and investment opportunities. During that time, Mr. Russo has run four global companies as Executive Chairman, CEO or President, managing the sale of those entities for well over $1B. Most recently, Mr. Russo managed One Equity Partners’ controlling investment in Aligned Energy, LLC, a company engaged in the development and deployment of patented new technologies for energy and infrastructure optimization, and led its sale to Blue Mountain Capital in February, 2015.

Mr. Russo previously served as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telwares, Inc., a leading provider of next-gen network advisory and strategic sourcing solutions to global enterprises, through its sale to Alsbridge, Inc. in November, 2012. 

Prior to Telwares, Mr. Russo served as President and Chief Executive Officer of WestCom Corporation, the leading provider of trader voice services to the global financial community, and negotiated the sale of WestCom to IPC Systems and Silver Lake Partners in 2007. Before leading WestCom, Mr. Russo served as Chief Executive Officer of Telerate, one of the world’s largest market data providers, negotiating its sale to Reuters in 2005.

Previously, he served as Managing Director, Global Financial Markets, and earlier served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and General Counsel of IXnet, acquired by Global Crossing in June, 2000. Prior to that, Mr. Russo was a mergers and acquisitions lawyer with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. 

In addition to serving on the Boards of Aligned Energy, Telwares, WestCom and Telerate, Mr. Russo also served on the Board of Directors of Cybertrust, a global provider of information security, through its acquisition by Verizon Business in 2007.

Mr. Russo is active in the Pencil Partnership of New York City, a not-for-profit program designed to partner business leaders with public school principals to drive innovation in the public school system. Mr. Russo earned a J.D. with Highest Honors from Fordham Law School and an L.L.M. in Corporate Law from NYU School of Law.
