Wireless Japan BOOTH #A407

Sonus Chief Executive Officer Gives a Keynote Speech on All-IP in Wireless

WESTFORD, Mass. and Tokyo, Japan, July 12, 2007 – Sonus Networks (Nasdaq: SONS), a leading supplier of service provider Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure solutions, announced that at Wireless Japan 2007 (Booth #A407), the company will showcase its award-winning suite of communications solutions, including applications supported by Sonus' IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-based architecture. Sonus applications are designed to showcase the potential of IP-enabled voice and multimedia services to transform the communications experience. Demonstrations will include:

  • Residential Services: Now that many of today's most popular consumer services are packaged as bundled offerings, many network operators are looking to include functionality that goes beyond the established services such as caller ID and call waiting in their service bundles. Sonus will show how capabilities such as ring-back tones, parental controls, and broadcast messaging can be added to consumer bundles to create a differentiated service.
  • National Business Services: The Internet has reduced the geographic and temporal constraints associated with connecting buyers and sellers. Unfortunately, the move to e-commerce has left behind the "comfort level" most users have when conducting business face to face. As a result, many web transactions are aborted prematurely or result in customer frustration. Sonus will show how the combination of Sonus voice technology and web services can be used to improve the Internet user experience and generate additional revenue opportunities.
  • Local Business Services: In the past, most people turned to their "yellow pages" to find goods and services close to their home or business, a model that enabled network operators to generate advertising revenues in addition to usage-based revenues. Sonus will demonstrate how carriers can supercharge this model with interactive advertising that combines location and web services to deliver customers directly to the merchant's storefront.

In addition to the Company's presence on the show floor, Sonus CEO & Chairman, Hassan Ahmed, will be giving a keynote speech on "All-IP in Wireless - Sonus Networks Strategy," Thursday, July 19th, at 11:50 am.
