GENBAND’s Fixed Line Network Transformation solution is the only one that enables telephony service providers to reduce their risk and avoid equipment obsolescence without complete replacement. At the same time, transformation improves central office profitability by evolving the local central office to VoIP and IMS technology in the most cost effective and efficient way.

With this solution service providers can replace multiple TDM switch cores with a centralized service delivery node while having the option of reusing existing TDM access peripherals* to minimize the VoIP transition effort and leverage the installed base, or to deploy new access equipment and take advantage of DSL and FTTx technology. GENBAND provides a complete end-to-end solution, which includes the following:

While TDM-based local central offices are still the main platform for delivering telephony services, there are a growing number of factors that threaten their ongoing viability:
