PBX Trunking

GENBAND, a pioneer in session border control, provides best-of-breed, scalable border control and gateway solutions that enable secure, reliable communications at the borders between enterprise PBXs / IP PBXs and service provider networks.

PBX trunking, also called SIP trunking or IP Peering, is increasingly used to connect enterprise PBX equipment to service provider networks or other locations. However, IP PBXs, SIP IADs connected to standard PBXs, and service provider networks often use diverse VoIP communications methods that require interworking, protocol repair, and normalization to ensure smooth session flow between them. In addition, security risks at these borders must be managed to prevent service theft, ensure session integrity, protect policies and SLAs, and provide network predictability and session confidentiality.

GENBAND's S3 Session Border Controller and S2 and S9 Integrated Border Gateways (IBG) provide comprehensive, carrier class security, session management, and policy enforcement at the borders between enterprise IP PBX / PBX equipment and service provider networks. The S-Series platforms protect against service-disrupting attacks and protocol incompatibilities by securely managing, controlling, and enabling interoperability of real-time voice and multimedia sessions at the network border.

The S-Series platforms are also used in conjunction with GENBAND's G-Series gateways to provide carrier class TDM to IP interworking and PSTN termination at the enterprise edge and core of the service provider network.
