GENBAND softswitch – An open standards platform for providing full-featured, IP-enabled voice core network services, the GENBAND softswitch allows operators to cap-and-grow or replace their Class 4 Local and Access Tandems, Long Distance, and International Transit switches -- or modernize their broadband networks -- with next generation VoIP technology.

The GENBAND softswitch platform combines state-of-the-art gateways with a flexible softswitch for distributed or centralized VoIP deployments, and is comprised of GENBAND’s C3 Gateway Controller and market-leading G-Series IP Gateways, featuring the flagship G9 Converged Gateway.
C3 Gateway Controller – The C3 reduces cost and operational complexity by integrating media gateway control, service logic, billing, regulatory, signaling, service creation, and element management within a common, scalable software and hardware environment. The C3 software is deployed in high-availability distributed clusters using one or more pairs of standard, carrier-grade servers.
Built for the most demanding IP Trunking and Class 4/Tandem environments, the C3 delivers powerful routing, translations, screening, database interface (toll free, prepaid, etc.), and protocol interworking features. Network-proven worldwide and supporting millions of Busy Hour Call Attempts (BHCA) per node, operators can easily add new nodes to expand capacity.
G9 Converged Gateway – The G9 is the latest generation of advanced IP gateways, supporting concurrent ANSI, ETSI, and ITU interface variants, tones and announcements, as well as signaling gateway functions. Scaling to over 90,000 ports per gateway, the G9 provides any-to-any network support with efficient circuit-to-circuit, circuit-to-packet, and packet-to-packet switching for high quality, low latency calls. MPLS-TE and OSPF routing are also available to improve transport reliability and cost-effectiveness.
