About GENBAND
GENBAND is a leading worldwide supplier of next-generation IP gateways, session border controllers and FMC security solutions. Fixed and mobile network operators around the world rely on GENBAND’s high-performance, high-security gateway solutions to enhance, secure and evolve their communications networks.

Headquartered in Plano, Texas, GENBAND was founded in 1999 by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, and today operates research and development facilities in Texas, Massachusetts, and China.

As a source of secure, IP infrastructure products and solutions, we provide IMS-ready gateways that deliver measurable value at the network edge – where IP networks border other IP networks and legacy circuit networks. Our portfolio of gateways allow service providers to deploy advanced IP-based services quickly, easily and securely, whether they are transitioning a legacy network or building a next-gen network from the ground up.

To keep our customers on the leading edge of network evolution, GENBAND continues to enhance this product portfolio. Our product roadmap redefines the role of access and interconnect gateways by connecting legacy fixed and mobile networks to next-generation IP networks. Today, GENBAND has solutions deployed in some of the most prominent service providers around the world. Our vision, mission and product direction is focused on serving the broader IP gateway market with solutions that connect, secure and route various kinds of media throughout fixed and mobile networks.

The GENBAND mission: To exceed the expectations of customers, partners & shareholders through integrity, imagination and innovation. In this pursuit, it is GENBAND’s vision to be the market leader in evolving, securing & enhancing communications networks.

Reseller Program
Next Generation Networks are complex and highly distributed, and often require systems that incorporate solutions from multiple manufacturers. For this reason, GENBAND partners with resellers to sell and integrate our solutions with those from other vendors. We work with a number of leading telecommunications industry resellers.

GENBAND Benefits
GENBAND delivers measurable benefits to network operators, our Telecom Equipment Manufacturer partners, and to consumers who expect and demand more productive and enjoyable communications.

GENBAND is a market leader in solutions that connect, secure and enable efficient communications. Our traditional line of carrier class gateway and security products provide interconnection and migration solutions at the borders of circuit and IP networks, as well as advanced security and session management at the borders where IP networks meet.

We continue to enhance and innovate our product portfolio.

Leveraging the significant growth in sales of our initial product offerings, GENBAND has aggressively expanded and enhanced its product portfolio and is now uniquely positioned to offer high-value infrastructure solutions based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and the Long Term Evolution (LTE) of the network. These IMS-ready solutions allow both fixed line and mobile service providers to rapidly deploy new multimedia services while opening a smooth migration pathway for evolving legacy networks to next-generation IP networks.

This move towards IP-based network solutions positions GENBAND to serve the networks of the future. Fixed and mobile networks that once delivered mainly voice services over circuit networks are now evolving to deliver voice and multimedia services over IP-based networks. These new IP networks are inherently flexible, open and use a variety of communications methods and protocols, and those qualities create potential performance and security challenges for network operators.

That’s where GENBAND can help.

Our solutions allow service providers to transition networks to IP, IMS, LTE and other emerging architectures in a secure, low-risk and cost-effective way, while at the same time increasing average revenue per user (ARPU) and reducing capital and operating expenses.

GENBAND solutions allow service providers and TEMS to accomplish several objectives, including:

Seamless Migration to Next-Generation Networks: Our media gateways connect legacy circuit switched networks to next-generation IP and other emerging network architectures to support the reliable delivery of voice, data, video and other multimedia services. This enables service providers to generate revenue from their existing network infrastructures while they introduce popular and profitable next-generation services.

Accelerate Subscriber and Network Traffic Growth: GENBAND’s media gateways allow service providers to increase the capacity and functionality of legacy and next-generation networks. Our products are open-standards based, interchangeable and scalable, allowing service providers to expand existing network infrastructures to accommodate subscriber and network traffic growth.

Cost Reduction: Service providers can deploy GENBAND media gateways to lower the total cost of ownership of their network infrastructures by reducing both capital expenditures and operating expenses. GENBAND can help service providers to converge services onto next-generation networks, reducing power, space, cooling and transport costs.

Fast, Affordable TEM solutions: GENBAND has made the investment in innovative, next-generation network solutions, so our TEM partners don’t have to. Our products work seamlessly with any recognized softswitch or IMS architecture, so our TEM partners can quickly and easily integrate GENBAND products into their larger network solutions.

Our Products
GENBAND offers three product families designed to help our customers evolve their networks to the all-IP future. Our current portfolio includes the G-Series of low-, mid- and-high capacity converged gateways; the GENBAND C-Series for gateway control; and our S-Series of security-based solutions, including Session Border Controller and Security Gateway products.

G-Series

  • G2 Compact Gateway™—The G2 platform is a compact, fully redundant, carrier class gateway that is also hardened for outside plant applications. It is a multipurpose platform providing voice over FTTx, packet line, and trunking gateway features, with integrated emergency standalone.
  • G6 Universal Gateway®—Deployed in hundreds of locations worldwide with billions of in-service minutes, the G6 platform employs state-of-the-art technology in a versatile, multipurpose platform. It is the world’s leading access gateway allowing local exchange switches to control voice services over FTTx and other packet access networks. As a packet line gateway, the G6 platform also enables next-generation call control over legacy access plant like switch line frames, in addition to functioning as a trunking gateway in IMS networks. The G6 platform scales from low to mid-densities, is based on open standards, and is interoperable with legacy and next generation call control and access plant.
  • G9 Converged Gateway™—The G9 platform is an advanced carrier class, high-density IP gateway for mobile and fixed operators. Using field-proven software in a product family with over 40 million ports deployed, the G9 platform employs the latest DSP technologies, with highly scalable IP and TDM switch fabrics for massive media handling. Its many integrated features, such as signaling gateway, SBC, and media and packet processing enable it to be a crucial distributed MSC, trunking, access, and convergence gateway in mobile, fixed, and fixed mobile networks, including femtocell and IMS architectures.

C-Series

  • C3 Gateway Controller™— GENBAND's C3 Gateway Controller is a multi-application softswitch and media server/media gateway control platform that enables a new level of reliability, flexibility, and scalability for network operators. The C3 provides Class-Free services that enable service convergence and feature transparency across a wide range of wireless and wireline, TDM and IP, and core and access networks. Deployed worldwide, the C3 allows operators to cap-and-grow or replace their TDM switches or provide scalable VoIP in greenfield applications.
S-Series
